Training Options
Equilibrium Fitness is an alternative fitness studio focusing on overall fitness training and injury prevention, athletic performance enhancement, and post-rehabilitation. Our Pilates training program specializes in designing the appropriate progressions and adaptations needed to meet the biomechanical demands of post-rehabilitation, and the design of beginning through advanced and specialized fitness programs. The goals of our diverse clientele span from managing scoliosis and osteoporosis, to pre/post-hip replacement and back care. Children and young athletes, age ten years or older, are welcome to participate in our programs.
As a new client, an individually supervised program will be tailored to your needs by our trainers, who provide hands-on guidance and instruction. Your first appointment will consist of a consultation to discuss your personal goals, and a physical evaluation to assess strengths and weaknesses in the body, as well as muscular imbalances and skeletal alignment problems. A series of ten private sessions are required for semi-private eligibility.
We offer a variety of different program options to meet the individual needs of our clientele.
Private Pilates Sessions
A one-on-one session with a trainer incorporating the full spectrum of Pilates apparatus and traditional mat work exercises, focused on your specific needs and fitness goals.
Semi-Private Pilates Sessions
Ideal for two people who wish to work together with a trainer. All sessions must be coordinated and scheduled with a partner. If you lose your partner, you are required to upgrade to private sessions.
Group Classes
A small group class structure designed to accommodate a variety of fitness levels with individualized and detailed supervision.
Breast Cancer Recovery Program A qualified Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist (BCES) is available to assess, design, and implement individual and group exercise programs for those diagnosed with cancer. With a complete understanding of the process from diagnosis to treatment, recovery, prevention of lymphedema, and contraindications, the BCES will design and implement an individualized Pilates-based program to meet your needs. Whether your surgery was recent or several years ago, this specialized program will allow you to regain full range of motion to areas affected by surgery. We offer private sessions and group classes.
Exercise in general, and Pilates in particular, provides critical physical benefits to breast cancer survivors. But the mental relief it can also give is just as critical, even though exercise may be the last thing you feel like doing after breast cancer surgery. All women who have undergone breast cancer surgery can benefit, no matter where they are in the recovery process.
